Mission

WiGiT is a Virtual Organization, and a shared experimental testbed spanning campuses and communities. WiGiT is conducting research and refining open specifications for transformative technologies to create infrastructureless ad hoc networks and markets, bridging the gap between wireless network middleware and grid application layers and accelerate commercialization and adoption of new products and services. WiGiT research serves industry needs for intra-system, or crossover work bridging the world of grid or cloud computing and wireless Internet, by contributing to open specifications and open application programming interfaces for wireless grids. This initiative includes faculty and students from Syracuse University, Virginia Tech, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tufts University, Instituto Superior Tecnico, Lisbon, Rochester Institute of Technology, University at Albany College of Nanoscience Engineering, City College of New York/City University of New York, and Wayne State, as well as many firms and government partners. All are welcome to join in this open innovation effort

Center for Digital Literacy

CDL is an interdisciplinary, collaborative research and development center at Syracuse University dedicated to understanding the impact of information, technology, and media literacies on children and adults; and studying the impact having or not having these literacies has on people, organizations, and society.
Wireless Grids Corporation

The Virtual Markets and Wireless Grids project investigates the tremendous value proposition that wireless grid networks offer to both increase access to wireless communication services, and to develop new economic sectors utilizing ubiquitous networks to access grid services.
